Will Rodgers, First a cowboy was considered by Oklahoma portrait artist, Terrance Clark
( 1914-1973 ) to be his greatest work. It took 14 months to complete ( 1946-1947 ). The original was a life
size portrait 21.5" x 28" executed with a sharp pencil technique.
In 1955 a limited number of high quality reproductions were made from the original using a sheet-fed
gravure press with a 300 line to the inch screen. These were printed on 16" x 20" sheets of three-ply
bristol paper. The original pencil painting was destroyed in a shipment to an art exhibit in th late 50's.
Great condition overall for this vintage print. Gold tone metal frame with glass.
