    Description

Type without distraction like it's 1987!
Up for sale is a rare copy of the IBM
    Personal Typing System
software and manuals that was bundled with the IBM 6901 Computer Personal Typing System which was a PS/2 computer similar to the IBM PS/2 Model 30 but marketed as a dedicated word processor for secretarial work. Think of it like a merger between the Wheelwriter typewriter and a general purpose PC.
*Software tested and working on an vintage IBM 6901 PC! The software can run on an emulator but works best on a proper vintage DOS PC. Can also provide backup software image files for digital preservation.
"The software – on one floppy – is similar to the DisplayWrite Assistant program, while typewriter function is similar to that of the Selectric System/2000 typewriter line; it uses a subset of PC-DOS."
Includes box for manuals, paper cover for box, installation and reference manual, operators guide, diagnostics disk, and a copy of the main program disc which contains the software for the different workstation functions and tasks. Does NOT include computer, accessories, or any cables.
Good condition the cases paper cover has obvious wear and tear. May have dust, scuffs, and scrapes from previous use and/or storage.
About the IBM Personal Typing System:
"The IBM Personal Typing System is an application specific
workstation integrating the functions of a word processor and
typewriter. It includes a system unit, system and application
software, keyboard, color or monochrome display, and an impact
or non impact printer. It can also be used as a personal computer
capable of running PC applications under DOS 3.3. With
the addition of an optional expansion unit, it will accommodate
up to three full size personal computer adapter cards for additional
applications, such as communications in a host environment.
All offerings feature key-to-print typing and correction modes
which eliminate the need to maintain a typewriter in addition
    to a word processor/personal computer."
