Ruthenium is a hard and brittle silver-gray platinum group precious metal. It is one of the most rare metals. The content of ruthenium in the earth's crust is only one-billionth of that. Ruthenium is stable in nature. It can resist the corrosion of hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, nitric acid and aqua regia at room temperature. Even at 100 degrees Celsius, aqua regia can't do anything about it. In fact, after processing the metal ruthenium, it passes through. It is often washed with aqua regia. Ruthenium metal is mainly used in catalysts, platinum palladium hardeners, wear-resistant cemented carbides and other fields.
